The Great Star is the machine driven by the jolly, mustached android: Mr. EAD. It was built by Shiggs Mapone, a man who is rumoured to be the leader of the mysterious development group known simply as "EAD". Much emphasis on body thickness and extended boost power was taken by Shiggs when constructing this machine, but any adequate form of control was unfortunately left out in the process. This isn't an issue though due to the fact that, like the Red Gazelle, such a safety flaw wasn't an issue given the pilot is an invulnerable robot.

[edit] F-Zero X

In the second console-based installment of the F-Zero franchise, the Great Star was introduced among the wide array of 25 fellow new machines. Overlooking this machine's obvious appearance, it actually has the lowest-grade body strength that one possibly could and a sloppy amount of control to match. It's only redeeming factor is it's A-ranked boost.

[edit] F-Zero GX

In the most recent console-based installment of this series, Mr. EAD's Great Star returns with the same nagging control issue and the even more disconcerning lack of armour resistance. Just like back in F-Zero X, most players drag this machine off the roster and onto the tracks simply for it's advanced boost ability, although these select few are typically well-experienced.

[edit] F-Zero Climax

In the most recent portable console-based title, the Great Star falls to Earth with overall messy handling capabilities and an even more disillusioning E-ranked body stat, but always ends up making up for it with an above-average speed boost inject that has a habit of dragging even the most unexpecting new pilot into it's grasp.
